THE CENTURION PROGRAM

The Centurion Program is specially designed to enhance strength, movement, function and reduce injury risk throughout the lifespan. Healthy ageing involves various components - strength, mobility, balance, awareness, and co-ordination - to name a few.

Our team uses the technology and strategies used from elite sport to help you achieve your goals, improve strength and reduce injury risk and events such as falls/trips. The program focusses on addressing areas of weakness identified during initial testing and optimising the key performance variables required for optimal function throughout all stages of the lifespan.

Our Centurion Program includes a variety of assessments, treatments, and techniques, individualised for you to recondition and optimise strength and function. This includes:​

1. In-Depth Musculoskeletal & Joint Assessment
A thorough assessment using our contemporary technology to obtain baseline range of motion, strength, balance, function and stability data provides us the foundation to deliver individualised care.

2. Individualised Treatment — Manual Therapy & Soft Tissue Techniques
A variety of techniques may be used to enhance joint range of motion and reduce functional restrictions identified during initial testing. Learn more about ​our Treatment & Therapy.

3. Individual Strength & Function Program
A tailored strength, mobility, balance, and function program is then implemented to target areas of weakness and address deficits identified. The program is individualised with specific feedback to help you improve your strength and function.

4. Technology Interventions — Maximising Results
We utilise technology, used within elite sport, to maximise your strength and function redevelopment. This includes the use of our monitoring technology to re-assess and adjust your program, along with modalities such as electrical muscle stimulation, when appropriate, to maximise strength and activation patterns.

5. Support & Guidance
Throughout the process, continuous support and guidance is provided to ensure you achieve your health and function goals. We educate you throughout your Healthy Ageing & Injury Prevention Program journey on injury prevention strategies and lifestyle factors that can contribute towards enhanced ageing and injury mitigation.

As part of the program, we address a variety of factors that contribute to your strength and healthy ageing:

  • Motor Control: Described as the initiation, grading, and regulation of movement involving the musculoskeletal and nervous system.
  • Strength Capacity: Also described as strength endurance, capacity measurements and programming assist in improving fatigue resistance of muscles.
  • Longevity: The process of living a long live, an area of health of wide interest and research.
  • Healthspan: Although frequently used interchangeably with the term lifespan, healthspan refers to the length of time that a person is healthy.
  • Stability: Describes how an individual is able to maintain position during various tasks and types of support - an important component in falls prevention and joint protection
  • Proprioception: Our perception of location, movement and body action. Combines stability, balance, and motor control to provide feedback on our joint position and velocity - important specifically for preventing falls or excessive joint stress/range of motion.
